When Louise's husband died 31 years ago, she decided to start a tradition in his memory: A family picnic. This family picnic however, was not your typical back yard BBQ, since Louise's extensive family includes her daughter Jackie, 10 brothers and sisters, 35 nieces and nephews, 66 great nieces and nephews, and 29 great-great nieces and nephews! Louise served for years as the Caregiver of the family, and spent her spare time putting together scrapbooks for her loved ones.

When Louise took ill last Fall, her family naturally wanted her to receive the best possible care. After months of caring for their "Caregiver", Louise's family was faced with a difficult decision: Which Skilled Nursing Facility should care for Louise?

After just 1 month at Farmington Care Center, Louise and her family are happy that they chose Farmington Care Center. Louise comments that, "the staff are wonderful", and her daughter, Jackie says that the Farmington "is the most like home. My mom is safe here."

Prior to his admission to Farmington Care Center, Solomino was an active family man, who loved to sing and entertain everyone he knew. When his Osteoporosis and Prostate Cancer became too much to tolerate at home, he found himself at New Britain General Hospital. A few weeks later, when told he was too weak to return home on his own, he chose Farmington Care Center as his place to receive rehabilitation and nursing care.

Solomino had this to say about his care at Farmington: "I love everyone here. If I need something, they help me. I love to sing, and here they sing with me, and we laugh; It's a happy place. I also like that I get what I ask for. For example, Mike in dietary gets me what I want; He knows I like pasta and meatballs, so he gets it for me."

"If I had to spend the rest of my life in a Long Term Care Facility, THIS is where I want to be. I'd recommend this facility to anyone, even Jodi Rell!"

Anita, a mother of 6 children and 10 grandchildren, calls herself a "Family woman", who enjoys playing cards, crocheting, and going shopping. On the way out on one of her regular shopping trips, Anita had a fall, and was taken to Bristol hospital.

After a short hospital stay, Anita chose Farmington Care Center as the place to receive her sub-acute rehabilitation services. When asked if she was happy with her decision to come to Farmington, Anita said, "The care here is the best! I'd rate it a 10! The Aides are good, the service is good, the food is good- what can I say? Everything is good, and everyone is nice!"
